IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michele Dawn
Moulton
May 31, 1965 – October 23, 2025
Michele Dawn Moulton, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly on the morning of October 23rd, 2025.
Michele was born May 31st, 1965, in Bakersfield, California, to Royce Elmer and Lois Evelyn Holden. The first of two children, she was followed by her brother Kyle Royce in 1970. What should have been a picturesque childhood was cut short when Michele was diagnosed with leukemia. Through every battle, she remained strong, determined, and full of faith — conquering the disease even after being told she would never have children. She went on to graduate from West High School in 1983.
In 1986, she met the love of her life, Robert Allen Moulton. The two shared a whirlwind romance and were soon married. To the surprise of her doctors, Michele became pregnant, proving once again that faith and love conquer all. Their first son, Justin Taylor, was born in 1987, followed by Levi Holden in 1992 and Kylee Nicole in 1995. Life wasn't always easy, but their home was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. Michele's greatest joy came later in life as she became a grandmother five times over — to Axel, Roxas, Lexaeus, Marluxia, and Vexen — each one bringing her endless pride and joy.
Michele loved children, not just her own. She spent many years offering in-home childcare for friends and families, giving her the blessing of being close to her children while helping others. In 1999, she began a new chapter with State Farm Insurance, starting in the mailroom and working her way up to the warehouse, where she stayed until the company's closure in 2018. True to her spirit, Michele didn't let life's challenges keep her down — she returned to working with children, joining the Norris School District in after-school and extended daycare programs, where her kindness touched countless young lives.
Michele loved classic Disney movies, especially Escape to Witch Mountain and The Parent Trap. She was an avid fan of baseball and football, cheering faithfully for her Dodgers and Angels, Broncos and Green Bay. Alongside her mother, she was devoted to raising awareness and funds for cancer research through their sorority, Eta Kappa.
A creative soul, Michele loved to crochet, make jewelry, and spend hours coloring or crafting. She enjoyed traveling, but her happiest moments were those spent at home surrounded by family. Whether it was a quiet evening with Rob, time with her mother, or a night of board games and dominoes with the grandkids, Michele's love and laughter filled every room she entered.
Life was never easy for Michele, yet she faced every challenge with courage. In 2011, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and once again, she fought and won — with Rob faithfully by her side. Their love endured through every storm. When Rob passed away suddenly on October 5th, 2025, Michele's heart could not bear the separation. Just a few short days later, she joined him, and we take comfort in knowing they are together again in Heaven, hand in hand as always.
She is preceded in death by her father Royce Holden, her husband Robert Moulton, father- and mother-in-law Arthur and Karen Moulton, sisters-in-law Rhonda Oliver, and Darlene Moulton.
She is survived by her mother Lois Holden; brother Kyle Holden and his wife Tami, their children and grandchildren; sons Justin (Alana) Moulton with their children Axel, Roxas, Lexaeus, Marluxia, and Vexen; son Levi Moulton; daughter Kylee Peer; brother-in-law Butch Moulton and his children; and brother-in-law Randy Oliver with his son and grandchild. and countless family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Michele will be remembered for her strength, her creativity, her kindness, and above all, her love. Her legacy will live on in her children, her grandchildren, and in every heart she touched.
