Michael Joseph Rogers was born on April 12, 1976 in Wasco, California to Barbara Aguerria (Rogers) and Merle Dean Rogers. Mike grew up attending St. Johns Catholic School and graduated from Wasco High School with the Class of 1994. While in school he participated in wrestling, baseball and band. Mike and Maria Magana were married in 1997. Mike worked in construction, first for Cade Construction and was currently working for Soto Construction as a cement finisher. Mike enjoyed watching baseball and hunting in the Greenhorn Mounts with his Grandpa. His Grandma Doris taught him how to make her famous sweet potato pie for the holidays and which the family enjoyed this past Thanksgiving. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris Rogers, Bennie Rogers, Joaquin Aguerria; and his uncle Alfred Aguerria. He is survived by his parents, Merle Rogers of Shafter; Barbara Rogers of Wasco; grandmother, Lupe Aguerria of Wasco; children, Elizabeth, Christina, Michaela, Michael Rogers, Jr., Ashley; sister, April Striegel and husband Brian; nieces, Ryan and Natalie Striegel; and his godparents, Elbert and Jackie Beaver. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 6 pm at St. John's Catholic Church for Michael Joseph Rogers, age 33, of Wasco who passed away December 21, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be said Monday, December 28, 2009 at 10 am at St. John's Catholic Church. Father Jerome will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 2-5 pm at Peters Funeral Home.
