Michael Boyd Rexius was born January 3, 1955 in Bakersfield to Ray and Mary Ellen Rexius and was a life-long resident of Wasco. Mike graduated from Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1973 and went on to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for two years. During a summer break from college, he got a part-time job with Semi-Tropic Water Storage District and it turned into a full time job as a water-tender. Mike then began a career operating heavy equipment, working as a land-leveler for many years with Snow Brothers Farm, and later with the Kern County Roads Department moving heavy equipment to job sites. Mike was very involved with the Wasco Active 20/30 Club serving as president and cooking for the many barbeques and events. This love of cooking extended to a variety of other community activities and fundraising events. Mike also loved music, playing the trombone in high school and later in the 20/30 "Plenty-Thirsty Band". Mike was preceded in death by his father Ray Rexius in 1999. He is survived by his son, Jacob Rexius and mother, Mary Ellen Rexius. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 20 at 10am at Grace Community Church for Michael Boyd Rexius, age 60, of Wasco who passed away April 14, 2015 at home. Interment will be at Wasco Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
