Michael Fowler, a 62-year resident of California and a 32-year resident of Yucca Valley, died from complications of leukemia Aug. 26, 2012. He was 64 years old. The son of Harry Albert Fowler and Betty Marie Fowler, he was born March 20, 1948, in Hot Springs, S.D. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and Teamster for over 30 years, working for Morongo Unified School District, ARA Transportation and Hi-Desert Concrete. He was equipment supervisor for TARMAC of America, the AWZ project at Domenigoni Dam and Jones Brothers. Michael loved his '51 Woody, a work in progress, his '49 Pontiac, '50 Silver Streak trailer and '92 Springer, and his nine rides to Sturgis. Michael also built a '59 Impala, a Soft Tail Bagger and a "bobber." He was preceded in death by his son, Sean Fowler, 26 years ago. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 33 years, who lives in Yucca Valley; son and daughter-in-law Keenan and Jeanne Fowler of El Cajon; brothers Patrick Fowler of Huntington Beach and Steve Fowler of San Diego; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Lisa Fowler of Chula Vista; and father-in-law David Spickelmire of Yucca Valley. He also is survived by nieces and nephews Matthew Rinkes, P.J., Rory, Daphne, Hannah and Chelsea Fowler, Matt and Becky Rinkes of Twentynine Palms and the Breazeale family of Mission Viejo. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sean and Michael Fowler may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
