Michael was born on September 25, 1967 to Bill and Alice Eastland. Michael passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2007. He will be buried with his grandma and grandpa Campbell at Arvin Cemetery. As a child, Michael attended various Lamont Elementary Schools and as a teen he attended Arvin High School. Throughout his school, Michael played the trumpet for the school band and played football on the varsity team. Michael graduated from high school in 1985 and began his exploration of other music and musical instruments. Michael began playing the electric guitar in a local band. Michael attended Bakersfield College and discovered his love for writing. He composed his own life stories of his triumphs and tribulations in hopes of benefiting others. Shortly after college, Michael worked as security guard at East Hills Mall, and later was employed by Valley Industries X-Ray, and Total Oil Company. Michael possessed and extreme love for animals and was frequently bringing strays or abandoned animals home to care for. Michael's family and friends that continue to love and honor him are his devoted parents, Bill and Alice Eastland; aunts and uncles, Vene and Janet Campbell, Terry and Charolle Campbell, Claudia Capmbell, Bob and Debbie Thome, Ans John and Joanie Thome; and numerous loving cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his grandpa and grandma Linton and Lessie Campbell and his grandpa and gradma Louie and Eleanor Thome. Visitation will be held Monday, April 9, from 2-8pm at Arvin Funeral Home. Graveside service for Michael Eastland, 39, will be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 10,at Arvin Cemetery.
