Scott Jones was born June 29, 1966 to Avery Sr. and L.V. Almeta Jones in Wasco, CA. Scott passed away March 22, 2008 in Delano, CA. Scott was very outgoing and lived his life to the fullest. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His life-long passion for music gave him the opportunity to play drums in several bands throughout his life. He recently had started playing the bass guitar as well as the drums. Saturdays were now spent with his future son-in-law, Gil, jamming in the kitchen with a host of friends stopping in to play. Instead of a dinner table his wife had a drum kit in her dining room. He had recently ventured into the mobile DJ business. He also was a passionate Condors Hockey fan. Scott had been a land leveler by trade for more than 23 years. He had worked at Gilliam and Sons Inc. for 20 years at the time of his death. Scott leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie Jones; his daughter Diana Duncan and special companion Tim Padgett, of Bakersfield; Kelly Jones and fiancé Gilbert Toledo, of Wasco; grandson Elijah Avery Jones who was the apple of his eye; his mother, L.V. Almeta Jones; his grandfather Hugh "June" Adkins, both of Wasco; his brothers, Avery Jones Jr., of Wasco; Howard Jones and wife Earlene, of Fresno; his sister Patsy Guevara, of Wasco; his father and mother-in-law Kenneth and Leona Duncan, of Wasco; his grandmother-in-law Sylvia Gentry, of Ridgecrest; his brothers-in-law Kelly Duncan, of Fresno; Wes and wife Deb Duncan, of Bakersfield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a world of friends. Scott is preceded in death by his brother David Jones (1955) and his father Avery Jones Sr. (1998). Peters Funeral Home will be conducting a graveside service Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 2pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Scott Jones, age 41, who passed away March 22, 2008 in Delano, California. Reverend Johnny Ross will officiate the service and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. There will be a visitation held for Melvin Scott Jones on Wednesday, March 26, from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel.
