Melvin Flud was born in Allen, Oklahoma on March 5, 1925 to Holiva Jones & Mattie (Melton) Flud. Melvin worked for Northrup King as a Warehouse Manager for 36 years. He was married to Ima Ruth Flud for 57 years until she passed away in 2006. Melvin was 88 years old when he passed away on March 20, 2013 in Shafter, California. Melvin appreciated hard work and loyalty to his job and family. He loved horses and spent his time watching his favorite baseball team the Anaheim Angels. Melvin was a very strong and confident man and taught his sons the importance of family, hard work and loyalty. He was survived by his two sons Dale and his wife Donna Flud and son Mike and his wife Susie Flud; three grand children Jennifer, Matthew, and Steven; and a few great-grand children. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Ima Ruth Flud. A special thanks to Hoffman Hospice especially Angie, who cared for him and who Melvin loved at first sight. Thank you to all the staff at Carrington of Shafter. Thank you to Jennifer Flud Mancilla for spending many days with grandpa and Mike Flud for being there for his father and taking care of all his matters. A Graveside service was held at Shafter Memorial Park on Monday March 25, 2013 at 1pm.
