Obituary

Mary Anita Mashburn was born September 14, 1952 in Tulare, California and passed away in Bakersfield, California at the house of her daughter, Abbey Flores, on May 8, 2011. A Chapel Service will be held for her at the Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on May 11, 2011 – 1pm. Following the services at the funeral home, she will be transported to Shafter Cemetery where graveside services will also be held. Mary was raised in Bakersfield and Shafter, California. She has lived in Oregon, Porterville, Sacramento, Woodland and North Highlands. She now resides in Fellows, near Taft. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oscar Ed Ice and Minnie Mollybelle Ice of Bakersfield; uncles Everett Douglas Ice and Roy Sanford Ice, both of Bakersfield; parents, Lillian Cordelia Triplett and Emerald Edgar Triplett of Bakersfield; brothers, Harold Lee Triplett, Ronnie Dale Triplett and Robert Alan Triplett of Bakersfield; and sister, Reba Lee Triplett. She is survived by her husband Charles Everett Mashburn of Fellows; three daughters, Sancere Rae Treat of Citrus Heights, Abbey Louise Flores and Minnie Mollybelle Culpepper of Bakersfield; and a son, Kenneth Wayne Adams of Fellows. She is also survived by two brothers, Richard Eugene Triplett of Taft and Edgar Eudell Triplett of Porterville and two sisters, Martha Ann Lavis of Davis and Darlene Doll Wenze of Bakersfield.. She has 19 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary's hobbies included collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia, hand knitting things out of yarn, watching Elvis Presley movies, painting designs on glass jars. Her favorite activities included visiting with her grandchildren, family and friends, watching movies with her husband and hanging out with her canine companions Misty and Whitey. Visitation will take place at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5 to 8pm.
