Mary Elizabeth Holmes was born July 7, 1942 in Arvin, California to Frances (Church) and Johnny Minyard. She graduated from Arvin High in 1960 then attended B.C. to attain her LVN license and was a nurse for 30 years. She was a craft vendor at the local craft fairs with her sister Barbara and niece Kristina; they looked forward to each fair. She was often found in her garden alongside her cats and and goldfish; other times in front of her monitor with her fingers flying across the keyboard. She was preceded in death by her son Johnny W. Miller, father Johnny Minyard and survived by her loving husband of 30 years Ivan, daughter Billie Elizabeth Arnold, step daughter Veronica Holmes; brothers Orvalle Stigall, John Minyard (Kathy), Jim Minyard; sister Barbara Johnson (Richard), 2 loving grandchildren along with a loving extended family, many co-craft vendors, extended friends and acquaintances. A memorial service will be celebrated for the life of Mary Elizabeth Holmes, age 67, of Lamont, Wednesday June 30, 2010 – 10am at Arvin Cemetery.
