Mary Felipe Gonzaga was born December 9, 1926 in Holtville CA to Carmen (Luevanos) and Helario Felipe. Mary was a wonderful grand mother and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always found sewing, which was a favorite pastime; she quilted blankets for the great grandchildren, embroidered pillows for the kids and made sundresses for the granddaughters. Giving them these items made her smile. All members of her family will certainly keep these wonderful handmade items as a beautiful memory of the matriarch of the family. She will be missed very much. Mary was preceded in death by her mother Carmen; father, Helario; husband, Rufino (Roy); son, Rufino Jr.; sister, Estella Pacaldo and grandson Michael Garcia. She is survived by sons, Charles and wife Mary, Robert and wife Mary, Andy and wife Elsie; daughters, Linda Gonzaga, Lori and husband Ruben Garcia; grandchildren Alejandro Gonzaga and wife Jayme, Nick Gonzaga and wife Sarah of Texas, Christopher Garcia and wife Sara, Katrina Garcia, Victoria Grays and husband Mike, Dani Garcia, Natalie Arreola and husband Robert, Monique Gonzaga; great grandchildren, Liesl, Xander, Keaton Gonzaga, Evan Matthew Gonzaga (Mary didn't have a chance to meet him, but loved him equally), Charisma and Robert Arreola Jr., Churmani, Alana and Jasmin Garcia; nieces and nephews, Ginger Abapo, Moses Pacaldo, Nalani Ordiz and Anthony Pacaldo. Mass of the Resurrection will be said Monday June 22nd at St Augustine Catholic Church – 1pm for Mary Felipe Gonzaga, age 82 of Lamont who passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 17, 2009. Father John Schmoll will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 21st – from 2 to 8pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm at Arvin Funeral Home Chapel.
