Mary Catherine Ellison April 30, 1931 – August 13, 2011 Mary Ellison was born on April 30, 1931 in Athens, Alabama. to John and Brownie (Oxley) Miller. She passed away August 13, 2011 in Bakersfield, CA. Mary Ellison is preceded in death by her mother Brownie Oxley, father John Miller, daughter Bonnie Jean and her loving husband Homer Lee. Mary Ellison is survived by her daughters Ruby, Linda and Barbara, sons John and Lee, also her daughter in-law Melinda Shields and son in-law Alan Smith. Mary also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Last but not least her dog Kissy Face that never left her side. Special thanks to her wonderful loving granddaughter Cathy for taking care of her for the last year. Also thank you to Peggy who was very special to Mary. ~We all will miss her with all our hearts~. Gone but never forgotten until we meet again. Visitation will be held at Arvin Funeral Home on Thursday August 18, 2011 from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 19, 2011, at 11am followed by burial at Arvin Cemetery.
