Services are scheduled for Mary Ellen Gallardo, 68, of Wasco, who passed away August 16, 2007 in Delano. Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home Monday, August 20 from 4-8pm and Tuesday, August 21 from 10am-8pm, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary said at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 22 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church in Wasco. Father John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Mary was born May 26, 1939 in Bakersfield to Jess and Catalina Sanchez. They lived in Wasco, and she attended Wasco schools. She married her husband, Raymond on August 26, 1989. She loved going to the beach, as well as cooking and baking. Everyone that knew her will remember her as a person friends could come to with anything and she would pray for them. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and they will miss her. Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Raymond; son, Juan Gallardo of Depue, Illinois; daughters, Jessie and husband, Frederick Cooper of Bakersfield, Carrie Gallardo of Bakersfield, Ofelia Gallardo of Bakersfield, Rosa and husband, Juan Alfaro of Bakersfield, Carrie and husband, Santos Castaneda of Wasco; step-sons, Juan Gallardo of Wasco, and Alex Gallardo of Wasco; step-daughter Maria Gallardo of Wasco; sisters Gloria Alvarez, and Vivian Villalobos; 29 grandchildren (and 6 on the way); and 27 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Gallardo, and one sister, Maria Socorro Sanchez.
