Martin Serna Escalona was born in Mexico City, Mexico on May 7, 1966 to Auroa Serna and Fidel Escalona. An ambitious hard worker, Martin believed anything was possible if you set your mind to it. He was a man who overcame many obstacles in his life with stride, faith and love. He always rose up to a challenge and took it head on. Martin was a God fearing man who always put his family first. He was always happy and willing to help others. Martin enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters; working on cars, reading and sharing the word of God. He was a great father, loving husband and amazing "Papa" to his granddaughters. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 15, 2015. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Monica Escalona; Children Jessie, Adam, and Tanya Escalona; granddaughters Aubrey & Lilly Ayala; son-in-law Teddy Ayala; mother-in-law Margret Santana. Funeral Services for Martin are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on Wednesday October 28, 2015 at 10am preceded by a visitation on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from 2-8pm.
