Mark Ortiz was born December 30, 1953 in Delano, California one of four children born to Carmen (Garcia) and Andrew Ortiz. Mark grew up in Wasco attending Wasco elementary schools and graduating from Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1972. Mark had been employed by Paramount Farms and City of Bakersfield. Mark loved fishing and family barbeques. Mark had a big heart for all his friends in Wasco. Surviving family members include his daughter, Barbara Ortiz-Marquez and husband, Johnny Marquez; son, Mark Andrew Ortiz; grandson, Jesse Ortiz; mother, Carmen Ortiz; brothers, Leonard Ortiz and Tim Ortiz; sister, Barbara Martinez; and many other loving family members and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Ortiz. Holy Rosary will be recited Friday, August 29, at 9:30am at St. John's Church and followed by the Celebration of the Mass at 10am. Fr. Raul will officiate the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
