Bill Coats was born in Greenville, Texas on March 27, 1935, to Henry and Marie Coats. He married Eloise Dossey on January 6, 1956, in Dallas and shortly after they moved to Shafter. Bill was employed by S. A. Camp for 38 years as a pump installer. Bill enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his son, Jimmidon. He loved collecting antiques and restoring old cars, he often entered his 1950 Willy's Jeep in the Glenville Rodeo Parade. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise and son, Tony. He is survived by his sons, Kirby, Kevin, Shannon and Jimmidon; daughters, Vickie Daniels, Sherry Burns and husband, James, Sheila Long and husband, Allan; sisters, Jimmiemarie and Juanita; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Monday, October 8, 2007, at 1pm, for Marion "Bill" William Coats, age 72, of Shafter, who passed away October 4, 2007, in Shafter.
