Obituary

Mario DiMolfetto 1920 - 2009 Mario DiMolfetto, born in Bari Italy June 4, 1920, passed in Bakersfield, CA September 29, 2009. Mario is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; son, John (Carolyn) DiMolfetto; daughters, Beth Flanagan, Carla McClain, Gabrielle (Mike) Geherty, Lisa DiMolfetto; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Filamina Russo, Angelina Sansone, and Elizabeth Giordano. Mario, a WWII veteran, originally came to Bakersfield in 1943 when stationed nearby. He worked for Sierra Bag Company for 40 years as a sales representative for the thriving business, selling agricultural packing to farmers throughout Kern County and the Valley. Mario's true passion was singing and entertaining. He touched the lives of countless people with his beautiful tenor voice, charm, and infectious smile. He performed in Community theatre, was a featured artist on KERN Radio, and was a member of multiple local choirs and music groups for over 50 years. The gift of his beautiful voice, which he graciously shared, will be remembered fondly. Rosary 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 1; and funeral Mass 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1515 Baker St., Bakersfield, CA. Flowers may be sent to Hopson-Anspach Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a favorite charity.
