Marilyn Elaine Kendig was born in Wasco, California on October 9, 1938 to Alfred and Nell (Wedel) Correll. Our mother, Marilyn, passed away to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 with her family by her side. Mom worked in Wasco as a hairdresser for 10 years before moving to Torrance, CA. She worked for several oil refineries before retiring and moving back to Bakersfield to spear head the Wasco alumni gatherings. Mom was a true Wasco Tiger through and through. She married Jimmy Kendig on December 8, 1958 in Wasco they had four beautiful children. Marilyn Elaine Kendig is preceded in death by her parents; Alfred and Nell Correll; husband Jimmy Kendig, Marcy 4, 2003, brother Clinton Correll. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Melodies Kendig of San Pedro, CA, Elizabeth Singer of Redondo Beach, CA; sons, James Kendig of Torrance, CA and Jonathan Kendig of Norco, Ca; 7 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 2pm at Grace Community Church, 1544 7th Street, Wasco CA. A private graveside service will be held for Marilyn Elaine Kendig at Wasco Memorial Park.
