Obituary

Marilyn Sue Clark was born on June 7, 1944, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Ralph and Jewel Hunter. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, resilience, and joy.

Marilyn was the oldest of three children and treasured her memories of growing up around Porterville, California, with her brother and sister. She often spoke of country adventures with their dog, Brownie, and the lessons about hard work and character she learned from her mother. One of the highlights of her youth was playing the French horn in the Porterville High School Marching Band, including the honor of participating in the Rose Parade.

After high school, Marilyn and 13 girlfriends moved to Hollywood, California, where she worked as a phone operator and delighted in being near the excitement of the movie world. Her love of films stayed with her throughout her life.

In 1969, she married and built a beautiful family and life in Delano, California. In addition to being a mother and managing a business, she also stayed deeply involved in the community. She was active in local clubs, special events, and the many relationships that made Delano home.

Marilyn loved her family, friends, pets, beach trips, and family vacations. She was adventurous, fun-loving, and often the loudest at her grandkids’ performances and sporting events or the first to teach them how to jump in the waves at the beach. She is survived by her two daughters, son, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four dogs, and four cats.
