A funeral service was held Friday, November 11, at 12:00 at Arvin Funeral Home for Mariano Soto Busane, age 79, of Arvin who passed away November 3, 2006, in Arvin. There was a viewing held for Mariano Friday, November 11, from 9am to noon. Rabbi Peretz Ben Y'hudah officiated with interment at south Kern Cemetery District, Arvin. Mariano Soto Busane was born October 27, 1927 in Miami, Arizona to Francisco and Francisca (Soto) Busane. His family moved to Arvin when he was 4 years old and he attended DiGiorgio School and Kern County High School. He served our country during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was a truck driver for most of his life, hauling mainly produce. Mariano liked to have a good time, read and watch television. He loved to tell jokes when he was surrounded by family. He liked to spend time by himself but looked forward to catching up at family reunions. Mariano is survived by his former wives, Irma Moreno and Alicia Busane; his sons, Fermin and wife Glenda Moreno, Louie and wife Susie Moreno, Nick Busane and Rocky Busane; his daughters, Elsa and husband Joe Sandoval, Carole and husband Mingo Gonzalez, Anna and husband Bill Stout, Angelica and husband Jesse Gomez and Olga and husband Jose Hernandez; his sisters, Enedina and husband Frank Carlos, Angela and husband Thor Hauge and Lupe and husband Joe Chavez; his brothers, Manuel and wife Helen Busane and Henry and wife Gloria Busane; numerous grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, like Tony and wife Yolanda Blancarte who was raised by his grandparents Francisco and Francisca Busane. Mariano is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Francisca Busane; his brother, Henry Busane; his sisters, Maria Victoria Busane and Frances Busane Hernandez Valdez.
