Marian Loewen was born April 11, 1934 in Bakersfield, California at Miss Friese's Maternity Hospital. She was the second daughter born to Arthur and Anna Schmidt. She attended Rosedale Elementary School and Bakersfield High School. She later attended Pacific Bible Institute, where she met her future husband, Donald Loewen. They married on July 2, 1954 and she began her career as a homemaker, where she raised two daughters and a son.

She enjoyed cooking and baking old favorite recipes and sometimes changing ingredients to make new and better recipes. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed many crafting projects. Marian loved flowers and spent many happy hours in her garden. In their retirement, she traveled with her husband volunteering their time with Choice Books. They traveled to set up and stock books for this Christian based company. She and her husband also traveled with an organization that helped to refurbish churches around the world.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra and her son Steven; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carol and her husband Donald. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marian's memory to Hartland Christian Camp. www.hartlandcamp.com
