A native of Poland, 44-year resident of California and 28-year resident of Yucca Valley, Marian Jankowski died Feb. 24, 2009, at Desert Regional Medical Center. He was 82 years old. He was born March 25, 1926, to Julian Jankowski and Emilia Jastrzebski. He worked as a butcher for 12 years before retirement. He was preceded in death by Waleria Jankowski 20 years ago. Mr. Jankowski is survived by his wife of 18 years, Irena Jankowski of Yucca Valley; son Janysz Jankowski of Diamond Bar; daughter Aliwa Ruszczyk of Anna, Texas; daughter-in-law Teresa Jankowski of Diamond Bar; grandsons Christopher Biniek of Anna, Texas, Jarek Jankowski of Chino. Alex Ruszczyk of Anna, Texas, Gregory Jankowski of Diamond Bar and Robert Jankowski of Diamond Bar; brother Julian Jankowski of Los Angeles; sister Maria Jaskoleski of Poland; and brother Frank Jankowski of Poland. A service was held Feb. 28 at St. Mary of the Valley in Yucca Valley, with Father Ignatius officiating. A graveside service followed at Mountain Valley Memorial Park.
