Maria Soto-Gonzalez was born April 21, 1958 in Chupicuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose and Maria De Jesus (Gonzalez) Soto. Maria and her family moved to Wasco, California in 1964. Maria attended Wasco elementary schools and graduated from Wasco High School with the class of 1976. She went on to attend Bakersfield College where she earned her AA Degree. Maria worked as a substance abuse counselor for Kern County for the last seven years. Maria is survived by her sons, Christian Alejandro Soto, Gustavo Soto and Miguel Angel Soto; brothers, Gabriel and wife Alva Soto, Jose and wife Guillermina Soto, Gilberto and wife Irma Soto and Everardo and wife Basilia Soto; sisters, Beneranda and husband Jesus Torres, Vernardita and husband Miguel Mora, Irais and husband Luis Gonzalez. Maria was preceded in death by her father, Jose Soto Santillan who passed away in 1973; mother, Maria de Jesus Gonzalez De Soto who passed away August 10, 2008; brother, Ciriaco Soto and Jesus Soto; sister, Matilde Soto. Holy Rosary will be recited Friday, December 12, 2008 at 6pm at St. John's Church for Maria Soto-Gonzalez, age 50, of Wasco who passed away December 10, 2008 in Wasco. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10am at St. John's Church. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2008 from 2pm to 5pm at Peters Funeral Home.
