Maria Dolores Rose 1950 - 2022 Dolores passed away peacefully at the age of 71 in Bakersfield on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022. Dolores was born in Bakersfield, the 3rd child of Arthur Perez Marrufo and Rebecca Gallegos Velasco of Arvin. Dolores grew up on her family's land in Arvin, attending Haven Drive and graduating from Arvin High School in 1968. While at Arvin High Dolores met and eventually married her tall, dark headed, mustachioed older man, Jack Rose of Weedpatch. Together they had three beautiful children, Jacqueline, Jonny, and Jennifer. Dolores enjoyed a 35-year career within the Kern High School District. First as a nurse at Arvin High, then as part of the administrative staff at Liberty High, and finally at ROC. Dolores is survived by her husband, Jack Rose of Bakersfield. Her children: Jacqueline East (Mel) of Bakersfield, Jonny Rose (Misty) of Bakersfield, and Jennifer Kavanaugh (Bryan) of Austin, Tx. She is survived by her grandchildren: Donna Gomez (Patrick) of Bakersfield, Jacob East (Carli) of Bentonville, AR, Scarlett Aurora of Bakersfield, Avery & Alyse Kavanaugh of Austin, Tx, Ila Rose of Bakersfield, and Penelope Krugeman of Bakersfield. She is survived by her great grandchildren: Scarlett, Reagan, and Killian Gomez of Bakersfield. She is survived by her siblings: brother, Jose Carlos (Gloria) of Arvin, and Elaine Tison (Bill) of Bakersfield. Family left to mourn her loss and celebrate the life she lived are her maternal Uncle Louis and Aunt Rafaela Rodriguez of Montebello. As well as countless Brothers-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins that were undeniably the backbone of her upbringing. Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Marrufo and Rebecca Velasco and siblings: Martha Orona, Roy Carlos, Renee Montano, and Dan Ortiz. Celebration of Life Services to honor the life Dolores lived will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, January 20th at Valley Baptist Church 4800 Fruitvale Avenue with a reception to follow at Salty's BBQ Banquet & Event Center 9524 Rosedale Hwy. Family Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, January 21st at South Kern Cemetery 15543 S Vineland Rd.
