Maria de Jesús Paredez, 75, of Arvin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Maria de Jesús Paredez was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on April 30, 1939 to Pablo and Elvira Zamora and raised in La Feria, Texas. She attended La Feria High School in La Feria Texas. Maria and her family moved to Arvin, California in 1965 where she soon met her husband, Fidel (Fred) Rosas Paredez. On August 19, 1967, Maria married Fred Paredez and they became lifelong residence of the community of Arvin. Together they raised their five children and were happily married for 47 years until her eternal resting day. She worked as a bookkeeper for the agriculture community of Arvin. Employed with E. O. Mitchell, Incorporated for 14 years and Agro Farming for 7 years. Maria was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Her life revolved around her family and with the biggest heart gave all her undivided attention and love to them. She was devoted to her Roman Catholic faith and taught Catechism to the children at St. Thomas Church for many years. Maria was a very giving person and always thought and put others before herself. She was a great cook and as a past time loved to dance. Maria is survived by her husband Fred, children Sylvia Mil Paredez, Manuel (Catherine) Paredez , Cynthia Paredez (Sergio Pimentel), Leticia (Joe) Sepeda, and Marcos Paredez (Soila Gomez); grandchildren Jessica Mil (Miguel Torres), Eduardo Mil III, Joseph A. (Nayeli) Sepeda, Christopher Mil, AnnMarie Paredez, Jacqueline Sepeda, Monique Sepeda, Matthew Paredez, Michael Sepeda, Aaron Paredez, and Abigail Paredez; great-grandchildren Joseph Sepeda and William Torres; sisters Consuelo (Carlos) Perez, Ofelia (Jesus) Cortez, Rose (Joe) Najera, Lupita (Gustavo) Vasquez, brother Frank (Juanita) Zamora and sisters Margarita Zarate, San Juana (Jesus) Oseguera; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Pablo and Elvira Zamora. The Mass of the Resurrection will be officiated by Father Jorge de la Torre at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 10 AM. Visitation will be held at Arvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 4 - 8 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM.
