Maria was born March 10, 1916 in Jereguaro, Guanajuato, Mexico to Saturnina (Ordonez) and Pedro Gonzalez. She married Jose Soto Santillan, in 1931; they were married 42 years and raised 11 children. She looked forward to having her family over and having food for them. Maria enjoyed singing and loved to pray; she was loved by many and will be missed by all. She is survived by her sons, Gabriel and wife Alva Soto, Jose and wife Guillermina Soto, Gilberto and wife Irma Soto and Everardo and wife Basilia Soto; daughters, Beneranda and husband Jesus Torres, Vernardita and husband Miguel Mora, Irais and husband Luis Gonzalez and Maria Soto, 60 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all from Wasco. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Jose Soto Santillan who passed away in 1973; parents Saturnina (Ordonez) Pedro Gonzalez; sons Ciriaco Soto and Jesus Soto; daughter Matilde Soto. .Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 6:00 pm at St. John's Church for Maria De Jesus Gonzalez Soto, age 92, of Wasco who passed away in her home August 10, 2008. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10am. Father Guillermo Vazquez will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco.
