With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Josie Hernandez, who peacefully left this world on September 23, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 30, 1945, in Tulare, California, Josie was the cherished daughter of the late Julian Delfino and Irene Vega. She grew up in Tulare alongside her siblings the late Robert Delfino, the late Virginia Holguin, and Mary Sinohui, sharing a lifetime of treasured memories and deep family bonds. Josie graduated from Tulare Union High School, Class of 1964.

On September 24, 1966, Josie married Vincent Hernandez in Tulare, CA. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, devotion, and family, raising four children: the late Robert Hernandez, Michelle Hernandez, David Hernandez, and Anna Lopez.

Josie devoted 35 years to nurturing young minds as a Teacher’s Aide in the Wasco Elementary School District. Her gentle guidance, patience, and heartfelt encouragement left a lasting imprint on countless children, many of whom remember her as a source of comfort, inspiration, and support.

Josie was a devoted member of Grace Community Church (formerly First Baptist Church) for 44 years, and an enthusiastic participant in the Wasco Women’s Club. Her life was a testament to service, faith, and an unwavering commitment to her community.

Josie’s life was a tapestry woven with devotion to her family. She found joy in their presence, pride in their accomplishments, and comfort in their love. Her warmth radiated far beyond her home, touching the lives of all who knew her.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Teresa Martinez and Debbie Parten for their compassionate care and support.
