Es sobrevivida por su marido amoroso de 57 años, Francisco Olmos Chávez; hijos Francisco Chávez, Ray Chávez, Chávez Frotado y Fabián Chávez; hijas Sylvia Chávez y Lydia Encinas; sobrina Rosalba H. Buenrostro; 16 nietos y 15 bisnietos. Maria simbolizó su dedicación a Jehová, Dios por su bautismo el Día 27 de Junio, 1987. Uno de sus alegrías más grandes fue de compartir con su familia, los amigos, y vecinos el mensaje de esperanza y futuras bendiciones que debían venir gracias al Reino de Dios. Creyó incondicionalmente en las palabras de Jesús "La hora entra que todo ésos en las tumbas conmemorativas oirán su voz y saldrán" (John 5:28, 29). She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Francisco Olmos Chavez, her children, Francisco Chavez, Sylvia Chavez, Lydia Encinas, Ray Chavez, Ruben Chavez, Fabian Chavez, her niece Rosalba H. Buenrostro, 16 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Maria symbolized her dedication to Jehovah, God through her baptism on June 27, 1987. One of her greatest joys was to share with her family, friends, and neighbors the message of hope and future blessings that were to come thanks to God's Kingdom. She believed wholeheartedly in Jesus' words "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out" (John 5:28, 29). She is resting and waiting for the future resurrection where we can be with her again. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 10733 Habecker Road, Lamont on Friday, July 29, at 6pm for Maria Ornelas Chavez, age 76, of Lamont
