Maria Elena Carrasco was born February 24, 1954 in Obregon Sonora, Mexico to Mario Carrasco and Maria Elena Torres. Nena as she was known by many, was a selfless woman who devoted her time and love to her family. Although Maria was strong willed; She also had a kind heart and cared for everyone. Any one that got an opportunity to try Nena's delicious cooking, knew she had great skills; especially her recipe for homemade tortillas. Nena loved listening to music, going for leisurely cruises around the town, visiting the casinos, and solving crossword puzzles. Most of all; she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Nena passed away December 28, 2015 in Bakersfield, Ca. Her thoughtful and calming personality will be missed. Nena is survived by her sons, Steve Aguilera (Bobbi Garcia), Mario Aguilera (Nini Quezada), Gerardo Magallanes (Valerie Alanis); daughters, Mary Elizabeth Aguilera (George Ramirez), Stephanie Aguilera; brothers, Roger Carrasco, Richard Shelley; sister, Blanca Estella Carrasco; niece, Shonda Carrasco; grandchildren, Stevie Jr., Jordan, Alexis, Vanessa, Roman, Aubrey, Jonathan, Mirandah, Layla, Joshua, Kelly, Desiree, Destiny, Janice, Romeo, Sarina, Michael; great- grandchildren, Nathaniel and Noah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mario Carrasco and Maria Elena Torres; nephew, Che Carrasco. A mass of a Christian burial will be officiated by Father Raul A. Sanchez Flores on Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2015 from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, California with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.
