Margie Jewell was born November 16, 1918 in Bradford, Tennessee to Clyde and Opal Battle. She enjoyed traveling, singing in church, listening to her kids play music and sharing old family stories. She was loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, caring for others and faith in God. She passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015 in Tehachapi California. She is preceded in death by her son Steve Jewell and her loving husband of 54 years Donald Jewell. She is survived by her children Margie Murphy of Salem, Oregon, Van Jewell, Rick Jewell, of California City, and Nema Kincheloe of Mesa, Arizona; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Margie Jewell are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, California and scheduled for Friday February 6, 2015 at 1pm followed by internment at Shafter Memorial Park.
