Margaret Mae Allen was born Feb. 23, 1930 In Wright City OK. to Jimmie and Lillian Franks. She went home on March 18, 2013. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Louis, Gary and Winford Lee. Her Sons Charles Hukill and Jerry Gore, husband Dennis Allen. She is survived by her seven sisters and their families, Lenna, Letha, Edna, Eva, Donna, Margie Maggie and brother Larry. She is also survived by her step children and their families. Margaret was the oldest of the 12 children and much loved by all. When she was about 16 Margaret moved to California. She was a very hard working smart woman. She worked in the fields then worked in the cafeteria in Wasco schools for about 14 years. She loved to cook and work in the garden which she was amazing at. In 1999 she moved to Bakersfield next door to her sister Maggie. For the next 14 years they were always shopping and going to lunch which Margaret really enjoyed. For the last six months Maggie moved in with Margaret not quite sure who was helping who. On March 17, 2013 Margaret made it known that she wanted to go to sleep and not wake up. She was ready to go home. On March 18, 2013 her desire was met and she went home peacefully surrounded by her family. A graveside under the direction of Peters Funeral Home was held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2pm at Wasco Memorial Park. Pastor Jim Glasco officiated. A visitation was held March 22, 2013 from 9am-1pm at Peters Funeral Home.
