Marcos Almaraz was born on July 12, 1932 to Marcos Almaraz Sr. and Estefana Luna in Fresnillo, Zacatecas Mexico. He peacefully went with the Lord on August 16, 2013. He grew up in Juarez Mexico, and came to the United States (Wasco) at the age of 19. On August 12, 1968 he married Marcelina Morua in Eagle Pass, Texas. They were married for 29 years until Marcelina's passing in 1997. They made their home in Wasco where they had two daughters, Maria and Marissa. Marcos was a farm laborer for over 25 years at Superior Farm Co. and later on retiring from Torigani Farms in 1992. He enjoyed taking the family to watch the Dodgers play especially when Valenzuela was pitching, although recently he would say his favorite teams were always the Angels & Giants. His grandkids gave him a hard time about that. He also loved to play poker with his buddies. His most prized possession were his daughters who he spoiled however he could. He is survived by his two daughters, who took care of him until the end, Maria & husband Francisco and Marissa & husband Benito Jr. His pride his grandchildren: Iliana (17), Jocelyne (12), Benito III (7), Isabela (6), two brothers, 3 sisters, many nephews, nieces, cousins and Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, but most recently by his Tia, brother and sister-in-law. He leaves to also join his special friends Jose Puente & Jesus Gomez who left ahead of him this year. A special thank you to the "angels" from Golden Living (Bkrsfld) and the Red Unit @Davita Dialysis (Office Park Dr.), who assisted in his care these past couple of months. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home for Marcos Almaraz. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church. Fr. Lucas Azpericueta will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
