Marcelo Guerrero Guevara was born to Eldifonsa (Guerrero) and Marciano Guevara on January 15, 1928 in San Antonio de Coronados, San Luis Potosí, México. He married Maria Vigil April 4, 1948. They moved to Texas in1953, then to Idaho and Arizona before settling in Wasco in 1958. Marcelo worked for Armstrong Nursery and for Jackson & Perkins Roses. Marcelo loved playing the lottery and going to casinos. He also liked to buy cars which he repaired and traded. Marcelo was always building things and starting remodeling projects around the house, he enjoyed keeping busy. He loved the outdoors and could be seen walking or riding his bicycle around town and later when he couldn't walk, riding his scooter. Marcelo was preceded in death by his wife, Maria, who passed away Feb.1, 2008; his parents, brother, Victor and sister, Aurora. Marcelo is survived by his sons, James of Wasco, Gustavo of Gilroy, Johnny of San Jose, Michael of Bakersfield, Jesse and wife Katherine of Bakersfield; daughters, Carrie & husband Fernando Trevino, Mary and husband Vincent Aguilera, all of Bakersfield and Anna and husband Estevan Bernal of Wasco; sisters, Adolfa Guevara and Isabel Cisneros; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Holy Rosary was recited Monday, November 29, 2010 at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco for Marcelo Guerrero Guevara, age 82, of Wasco who passed away November 25, 2010 in Bakersfield. A graveside service was held Tuesday, November 30 at 10am at Wasco Memorial Park. Fr. John Fluetsche officiated the service and interment followed.
