IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Manuel I
Vergara
November 19, 1933 – April 11, 2009
Manuel I. Vergara has gone to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 11, 2009 while surrounded by his loved ones. Manuel was born in Mesquite Valle De Erro, Spain on November 19, 1933 to Concepcion (Goni) and Juan Vergara. He was a Cattle Rancher for over 60 years and loved every minute of it. He dedicated his career to the Mendiburu Family. He looked forward to rainy days, so that the cattle would have plenty to eat. He was a simple man that loved working on the ranch and being at home. One of his favorite places to eat was Benji's Basque Restaurant. He enjoyed traveling to Gardnerville, Nevada for annual reunions where friends and family members of Valle De Erro, Spain, enjoyed speaking of the old times. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents and several of his brothers. He is survived by his wife, Celia Vergara; son, Manuel Vergara Jr.; daughters, Chantel Lorenzana and her husband Joel, Jozal Domecq and her husband Vincent and Sherry Vergara and her husband Johnny Aleman; brothers, Inocencio, Alfredo, Jose Luis and Martin Javier Vergara; and a sister, Ana Mari V. Goni; many nephews, nieces, and grandchildren; and a great granddaughter on the way. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held for Manuel I. Vergara, age 75, Wednesday, April 15th from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Wasco with a Rosary at 6pm. Mass will be held Thursday, April 16th at St. John's Catholic Church at 10am and interment will immediately follow at Wasco Cemetery.
