Manuel was born December 14, 1921 to Domingo and Maria Medrano in Winslow, Arizona. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II in the Normandy Invasion. Preceded in death by his loving wife Evangelina (Honey) Melendez Medrano. Son-in law Johnny (Jet) Tovar. He is survived by his daughter Patty Tovar, and and her companion John Medina, Sr. Sons Ronnie and wife Emy, James and wife Helen. 13 Grandchildren 25 Great Grandchildren. Sister Julia Bonilla, brothers Tony and Bob Medrano all of Porterville, Ca. The family would like to express a special Thank you to Golden Living Center, Optimal Hospice Care, and Bakersfield Heart Hospital for the wonderful care given to him during his illness. Mass of the Christian burial will be held for Manuel Medrano, age 87, at St. John's Church, on Friday, May 22, 2009 - 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Wasco Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home 1401 7th St. Wasco, CA. on May 21, 2009 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at St. John's Church 1300 9th Pl. Wasco, CA.
