Everyone know her by Janet or Nonnie. Mabel Jane Tackett was born to James and Rosetta Stephens in Sylamore, Arkansas and was raised there. She married Ross Tackett and they moved to Wasco California in 1939. She was married to Ross for 40 years. Mabel worked as a waitress at various restaurants in Bakersfield for many years. She was also a great homemaker for many years. Mabel loved to paint with oils and play Bingo. A great number of people enjoyed her cooking. Mabel was proceeded by her parents, husband Ross and Son Virgil, and 4 brothers and two sisters. She is survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service under the directions of Peters Funeral Home will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016, 10 am at Wasco Memorial Park.
