Lyle Grant Davidson was born August 18, 1951 in Hope, Arkansas to Charlie and Lois Davidson, and they moved to Shafter when Lyle was an infant. Lyle graduated from Shafter High School with the Class of 1969 and went on to attend Bakersfield Adult College. Lyle worked for the Kern County Road Department as a grader operator for 18 years before retiring early from a disability. Lyle loved anything to do with fishing including learning to fish while kayaking. Lyle and his best friend, Mark Montgomery passed away in a vehicle accident on their way to a fishing trip on March 23rd. Lyle is survived by his companion of 15 years, Betty McGregor of Shafter; sons, Brian Davidson (Wendy) of Bakersfield and Greg Davidson (Samantha) of Shafter; brothers, C.L. Davidson (Juanita) of Texas and Jim Davidson of Bakersfield; sister Jayne Davidson 6 grandchildren, Sierra, Jozef, Rodney, Cody, Brittnee and Michael; and 3 great grandchildren, Kaydence, Wayland, and Rosalie. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 2 at 2pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Lyle Grant Davidson, age 63, of Shafter who passed away March 23, 2015 in San Luis Obispo County.
