L.V. Almeta Adkins was born December 19, 1936 to Hugh "June" and Almeta Adkins in Coalgate Oklahoma. She went home to be with the Lord November 28, 2012 at the age of 75. She was three weeks shy of her 76th birthday. She was a devout Christian and a loving example to her family friends and church. She married Avery Jones Sr., July 3, 1954 in Coolidge Arizona. They were blessed with five children, Avery Jr., David, Howard, Scott, and Patsy. She was first and for most a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her second profession was being a home health care provider until she retired in 2011. She was the family Matriarch, and the one people turned to in a time of need. L.V. Almeta Jones is preceded in death by her mother, Almeta, son, David; brother, Melvin, husband Avery Sr., son, Scott and father Hugh. She is survived by her sons, Avery, Jr., Howard, and Earlene Jones; daughter Patsy "Trish" Guevara, daughter in-law Debbie Jones; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a very special Thank you to Pastor John Ross and Cain Maldonado of West Side Family Fellowship; the staff of Glenwood Gardens especially Jerrina, Terrene and Angelina; The Staff of Memorial Hospital and especially her neurologist, Dr. Alexan and Dr. Mohammadi of Central Valley eye Cara. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Shafter Memorial Park at 2pm for L.V. Almeta Jones. Pastor John Ross will officiate and interment will follow. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Peters Funeral Home from 4-8pm and Wednesday, December 5, from 9am-12noon.
