LUTHER EUGENE McCULLAR JULY 20, 1948-MAY 6, 2007 Luther Eugene McCullar was born on July 20, 1948, in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Luther and Arbie (Turney) McCullar. He came to California with his family, when he was around 10 years old. He was a graduate of McFarland High School with the class of 1966. In 1968, he enlisted in the United States Army, receiving two purple hearts. He married Linda Sue Langley in Las Vegas on July 4, 1987; Gene, what everyone called him, had a love for deep-sea fishing. He is survived by his wife Linda McCullar, five sons; Gary and Lisa McCullar of North Carolina, Anthony McCullar of Bakersfield, Travis McCullar of Bakersfield, Joshua McCullar of California City, Paxton and Heather Helton of California City, daughters; Stormy and Louie Luna of Bakersfield, Misty Haralson of California City, brother; Ed and Jackie McCullar of Washington, sister; Carol and Jim Walker of Bakersfield, CA, 12 loving grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; Luther and Arbie McCullar, brothers; LeRoy and Ronnie and sister; Laveda Chan. A Graveside service was held at Wasco Memorial Park on May 11, 2007 at 1:00pm for Luther E. McCullar, age 58, of California City, who passed away May 6, 2007 in California City. Interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park.
