Lupe Herrera was born in Loraine, Texas on February 26, 1930 to Jesus and Pilar (Madrid) Carrasco. She considered herself fortunate to have met and married her beloved husband Joe M. Herrera and they adopted a beautiful daughter, Brenda when she was just six months old. Lupe would love to sew Brenda's dresses for school. They enjoyed trips to Magic Mountain and DisneyLand. She enjoyed vacations to Pismo Beach, quilting and sewing. The three of them lived a very happy life. She was grateful to the Lord for giving her such a wonderful life. Lupe worked in Agriculture as a Farm Laborer for 31 years. Lupe Herrera was 83 years old when she passed away on July 3, 2013 in Bakersfield, California. She was a resident of Shafter, California. Lupe Herrera is survived by her two brothers Cruz and Manuel Carrasco; many nieces and nephews; and special God children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Joe Herrera and her daughter Brenda. A Graveside service was held,under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, at Shafter Memorial Park on Tuesday July 9, 2013 at 10am.
