Lucy Alderete June 17, 1917 – Dec 4, 2009 A celebration of the life of our Mother Lucy Alderete will begin with a Rosary Tuesday 12/8/09, 7pm at Hopson-Anspach Mortuary. The celebration will continue Wednesday 10:30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 609 E. California Ave. Mom went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday 12/4/09 at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mom was a lifetime resident of Bakersfield. She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel, parents Nicholas & Josephine Martinez, brother, Charlie Martinez and daughter-in-law Connie Alderete. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children and their spouses Manuel Jr. & Rose, Charlie & Loretta, Eleanor & Mike Solano, Ben, Bobbie, Rachel Medina, Sam & Judy, Rosemary & Ernie Sanchez, 22 grandchildren, and numerous great & great-great grandchildren, Sisters & brother, Clara Martinez, Mary Gallardo and Louie Martinez. Mom was an integral part of our lives, and some of our fondest memories were created during our annual tradition of making her unique tamales. A special thank you to Optimal Hospice, Maria Cervantez & Evelyn Duran for helping us transition to the next chapter of our lives without our Mom. Pallbearers will be Anthony Alderete, Manuel N. Alderete, Joe Medina Jr., Brian Alderete, Lee Alderete, and Ernie Sanchez Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Nicholas Medina, James Alderete and Patrick Sanchez
