Lucio Fierro Lara was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, to Lucio Sr. and Rosario Fierro, on September 22, 1967. He came to Shafter in 1982, and married Maria Galvez on January 28, 1987, in Mt. Vernon, Washington. He loved his construction work and enjoyed traveling. He was willing to help anyone at anytime…He would stop what he was doing and drive to help others. Lucio is survived by his wife, Maria Fierro; 2 daughters, Crystal and husband, Victor Marquez and their daughter, Syssy Marquez; and Jessica Fierro; 4 sons, Lucio, Jr., Victor, Omar and Angel Fierro; his parents, Lucio and Rosario Fierro; and many other loving family members. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at Peters Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at 6pm, for Lucio Fierro Lara, age 39, of Shafter, who passed away February 24, 2007, in Sonora, Mexico. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 10am. Father Pedro Umana of St. Therese's Catholic Church officiated the service and interment followed at Shafter Memorial Park.
