Tillee was born September 30, 1947 in Bakersfield, California to Martin and Luciana Ornelas. Raised in Buttonwillow and graduated from Shafter High School in 1964. She later served in the United States Marine Corp where she met and married the father of her two older sons, Martin and Bruce Adkins. Upon her honorable discharge from the USMC, Tillee moved back to Bakersfield and began building her diverse life, including working as a bartender, teacher, cosmetologist and nurse. Tillee later added two more children to her family, Teri and Cruz Chavez. Tillee had a great love of music, dancing, gardening, animals and collecting antiques. Tillee took great pride in her children and grandchildren, making sure to introduce them to everyone and anyone. When Tillee was in the room, she was loud and boisterous, making sure you knew she was there. Many people were drawn to Tillee's high-spirited zest for life and couldn't help but love her, including her late husband, Frank Huizar. Although she is in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ, her presence here will be deeply missed. Luciana is survived by her 4 children, Martin Adkins (Jenifer), Bruce Adkins (Leah), Luciana "Teri" Gonzalez (Jose), and Cruz Chavez, (Francesca); 15 grandchildren, Kiara, Alec and Alison Adkins, Brooklynne Adkins, Samantha and Savannah Gonzalez, Valerie Ramirez, Joanna Gonzalez, and Andrew, Alex, Cruz Jr., Nicholas, Nathan, Matthew, and Luciana Chavez. An evening service will be held, Wednesday, April 27 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Luciana Tillee Ornelas Huizar, age 68, who passed away April 22, 2016 in Delano. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28, at 10am at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter followed by a graveside service at Shafter Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27 from 4pm until 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
