Loyd Earl Link was born September 16, 1928, in Tyronza, Arkansas to Arthur and Alta Link. He died on September 6, 2021. Loyd was raised by his maternal Uncle and Aunt, Earl and Virgie Cook. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Janie Irene Armstrong and son, Victor Loyd Link. He is survived by his son, Michael Loyd Gray, of Illinois; daughter, Toni Gae Holt, of Millington, Tennessee; sons, Craig Link, of Ventura, California and Vincent Earl Link, of West Union, South Carolina; and daughter, Lisa Lynn Hiestand, of Cypress, Texas; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Loyd served the community of Shafter by serving as the President of the Chamber of Commerce, as Councilman for eight years and Mayor of Shafter for two of those years. Loyd spent the better part of the last thirty years in Ventura, California where he had many friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
