Lowell C. Reid died at the age of 80 on Dec. 26, 2008, at Desert Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 11, 1928, Mr. Reid was a 23-year resident of Yucca Valley. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a retiree from Edison. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Helen Thompson-Reid of Yucca Valley, Calif., son David Reid of Yucca Valley, daughters Terri Lopez of Twentynine Palms and Patricia Reid-Laubenstein of Joshua Tree, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Reid's family requests donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
