Lorenza Chavez Palos was born July 7, 1936 in San Lorenzo, Momax, Zacatecas, Mexico one of seven children born to Ramona (Valenzuela) and Antonio Chavez. Lorenza came to California in 1979 settling in the Lost Hills area and worked as a farm laborer, mostly for Paramont Farms. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful plants, especially her roses. Lorenza loved to cook and always welcomed everyone to her home. She was a very caring and loving person. She was known for her happy nature and loved to sing. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maria Guadalupe Palos (1996); infant son, Lupe; sister, Natividad Chavez; and her parents. She is survived by sons, Faustino Palos of Wasco, Juan (Teresa) Palos of Bakersfield, Jose (Ann) Paloschavez of Japan; daughters, Maria (Mario) Hernandez of Wasco and Anna Maria (Sean) Mellon of Wasco; brothers, Salvador Chavez, Froilan Chavez, Rafael Chavez, Jose Chavez and Ventura Chavez; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 2 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco for Lorenza Chavez Palos, age 76, of Wasco who passed away June 27, 2013 in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 3 at 10am at St. John's Church, Wasco. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
