Lorene Francis Davis passed away peacefully on September 3, 2008 with her 3 daughters by her side; she passed away suddenly due to complications from pneumonia. Lorene was born May 25, 1923 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Leo and Maude Goodwin. On October 30, 1941 she married Ira Davis who preceded her in death on July 4, 1990. Ira and Lorene resided in Arvin most of their lives where the raised 7 children. Their son, Ronnie Davis passed away in 2005 from pancreatic cancer leaving behind his wife, Elinor Davis of Atascadero. Ira and Lorene's surviving children include Joe Davis and wife Carol, Johnny Davis, Sandy Davis, Gene Davis, Cindy Davis, Cathy Prince and husband Don, Donna Coletti and husband John, Brenda Creekmore and husband Robert, all of Bakersfield. Lorene had 3 siblings, Garnett Goodwin and Fern Killian, who both preceded her in death; she leaves behind a brother, Lee and wife Fern Goodwin of Tehachapi. Lorene has 12 beautiful grandchildren, John Davis, Jodi Wheatly, Jeff Davis, Kayla Duran, Shannon Freisinger, Jay Davis, Brian Davis, Shirden prince, Tracy Brown, Zachary Coletti, Chelsey Coletti and Travis Creekmore. She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren that she loved very much. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 8, 2008 at 1pm in the Outdoor Chapel at South Kern Cemetery, 15543 Vineland Ave, Arvin for Lorene Francis Davis, age 85, who passed away September 3, 2008 in Shafter. Pastor Lonnie Ferguson will officiate the service and interment will follow. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 7 from 1pm to 8pm at Arvin Funeral Home.
