Renie was born in LaVerne, CA to Aurelio and Susan Dacquel. She was the youngest of four children, with two older sisters, Elsie and Millie and one older brother, Jimmy. They moved to San Dimas where they grew oranges and stock flowers for the LA floral market. Renie graduated from Bonita High School in 1953 and married Henry (Hank) Leach in November of that year. They lived in Ontario, CA where their only daughter, Denise (Hamlin) was born in 1956. The rose industry that Hank worked for moved them to Wasco, CA in 1966 where they have lived ever since. From 1980 - 1985, Renie worked as a pharmacy technician at the Wasco Family Pharmacy. In 1985 she made the move to what is now Paramount Farms and worked in several different areas before becoming the administrative assistant. Renie finally got her wish to be a grandmother when Brian and then Elizabeth were born in 1987 and 1989. She was the best Mommo in the world, just ask them. Family was everything to her. She retired in 2000 and finally had the time to do all the things she loved. She remained very busy and involved in many of her favorite past times, and loved to be out in her garden whenever possible. Flowers were always a very important part of her life and she enjoyed growing them. She was extremely artistic and creative and loved to keep her hands busy with sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, or embroidery. She was never at a loss for something to do or make and her project list was endless. She enjoyed her stained glass class, her newest interest, and Bible study where she made many special friends. They were a true blessing during her illness and helped to keep her spirits up. Renie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Hank Leach of Wasco, her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Mike Hamlin, and her grandchildren, Brian and Elizabeth Hamlin of Bakersfield; sisters: Elsie Stevens of Topak, AZ, and Millie Leach of Ontario, CA and sisters-in-law: Alice and Phil Crosno; Phyllis and Floyd Folwell; and June and Buck Buchanan all of Ontario, CA; brother-in-law John Leach of Rialto, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews. Renie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a life long friend. She was very giving and more concerned about everyone else before herself. All who knew her loved her and could always depend on her to do her best to fulfill her promises. She will be missed terribly by her family and many special friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to the loving nurses, care partners and doctors who cared for her during her illness at San Joaquin Community Hospital and Pastor Scott Allred. You all made a difference in her life and ours and will be remembered for your compassionate care. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church of Wasco, 7th and Birch, under the direction of Peters Funeral Home.
