Loren Larkin Orr, a 47-year resident California and 17-year resident of Twentynine Palms, died at home May 14, 2010. He was 55 years old. The son of Walter Orr and JoAnn Crouch Orr, he was born Feb. 9, 1955, in Fontana. A mechanic for 20 years, Mr. Orr enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fixing cars, watching NASCAR and visting Joshua Tree National Park. He was preceded in death by Larry Orr 29 years ago and David Orr 15 years ago. Mr. Orr is survived by daughters Crystle Orr of Twentynine Palms, Alisha Orr of Newport, Ore., and Cheryl West of Twentynine Palms; grandsons Kent West and Mark West, both of Twentynine Palms; granddaughter Hollie West of Twentynine Palms; and one great-grandchild. The viewing will be private. A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. May 18 at Oasis Community Chapel in Twentynine Palms, Pastor Dan Bailey officiating. Inurnment was private on the same day.
