Lois was born in Putman, Missouri to Charles and Retta (Webber) Lewis. She married Holt Stripling in Washington state, and the couple came to Wasco in 1969. After Holt's passing, Lois married Orval Mahaney in February of 2001 at Bakersfield, CA. Lois was thoughtful woman; she was a people pleaser, always concerned for others. She was a great cook and enjoyed embroidery. She will be dearly missed. Lois Lorraine Mahaney is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Retta; her first husband, Holt Stripling; a brother, George Lewis; and sister, Hazel Ritchie. She is survived by her husband Orval "Mac" Mahaney; sons, Larry Stripling and Gary Stripling and his wife Birdie; daughter, Eva Lou Wilson; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1pm at Peters Funeral Home for Lois, age 83, of Santa Clarita, who passed away on August 11, 2011 in Sylmar, CA. Interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Pastor Charles Jester will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
