Lois Idella Gaither was born March 9, 1926, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to Earl and Lela Williams. She came to Shafter in 1947, and was employed by Johnson's Department Store, Central Drug Store and eventually Shafter Flower Shop. Lois enjoyed arts and crafts, making floral bouquets, and taking senior bus trips with the local seniors group. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Edward. She is survived by her sons, Ron and wife, Wilma Gaither of Byars, Oklahoma, and Don Gaither; daughter, Pamela and husband, Les Armstrong all of Shafter; sister, Lela Mae Mann of Eufaula, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Allen and Donna Warf , and their sons, Alex and Chris all of Michigan. A funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at 1pm, for Lois Idella Gaither, age 81, of Shafter, who passed away February 16, 2008, in Shafter. Pastor Dean Long of the Free Will Baptist Church will officiate the service and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
